Sand is a great medium to use in the bottoms of candle containers that taper at the bottom. Not only does it add a nice design aesthetic, but it also helps the candle burn clean and evenly.
Candle-making tip with Sand:
Pour a thin layer of candle wax and let it set up before pouring the entire candle vessel. This prevents sand from floating into the main body of wax.
